​TOPCon : Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact

​

  • Topcon’s N-Type technology generates a flow of free electrons that increases the efficiency of the modules.

​

  • Better temperature coefficient (with a coefficient at -0.30%/°C, power generation performance is particularly outstanding at high temperatures (0.75% higher than PERC).

​

  • Power gain with bifaciality (2% more than PERC due to the increase of the bifacial factor by 15%. The power guarantee can be up to 30 years. The degradation in the first year is less than 1%, which means that the power output at year 30 is at least 87.4% guaranteed).

​

  • N-type solar cells are more resistant to common environmental stresses, such as potential-induced degradation (PID) and light and elevated temperature-induced degradation (LeTID). This improved durability results in a longer lifespan for N-type modules.

P-Type

PERC : Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell

  • It improves absorption of the light spectrum near the rear surface of the cells.

​

​

  • The main advantage is that it allows manufacturers to achieve higher efficiencies than standard solar cells.

  •  Less energy loss due to shading because of the absence of busbars on the front surface.

  • Shingled solar modules generally have better shade tolerance due to their cell layout. With traditional modules, shading on any part of the panel can significantly reduce overall output, while shingled modules can handle partial shading more effectively.

​

  • A new position of the photovoltaic cells reduces the space between them, allowing more cells to be placed on each solar panel.

​

  • Shingled modules often have a sleeker and more aesthetically pleasing design because of the absence of visible busbars on the front surface. This can be an important factor for residential and commercial installations where appearance matters.

  • Shingled modules have a larger surface area for heat dissipation because of the absence of busbars., reducing the chances of hot spots and enhancing module longevity.
